Kenny Scharf Custom T-Bird: Hot Wheels is thrilled to unveil a colorful miniature of its classic Custom T-Bird, created in collaboration with renowned artist Kenny Scharf, known for his “Pop Surrealism” and “Karbombz!” car art.
The partnership transforms one of Hot Wheels’ original 16 models from 1968 into a vibrant work of art. A full-sized, hand-painted 1967 Ford Thunderbird by Scharf will also be inducted into Hot Wheels’ “Garage of Legends” for the upcoming Legends Tour.
Kenny Scharf, a prominent figure from the 1980s East Village art scene, creates hallucinatory worlds filled with colorful characters and themes of consumerism and environmental concerns. His “Karbombz!” series sprays unique designs onto cars, turning them into mobile canvases.
The new Hot Wheels x Kenny Scharf Custom T-Bird features a full-metal chassis and will be priced at $35. There will also be a limited run of 100 signed editions for $300, each with a custom base designed by Scharf. Each miniature includes an acrylic case, certificate of authenticity, and decorative slipcover, making it a sought-after collectible.
This collaboration showcases Hot Wheels’ dedication to innovation and artistic expression, allowing fans to own a piece of vibrant automotive art.
